Top 5 Batsmen with the highest strike rate in IPL history

Batting in T20 cricket is not easy, as a batsman barely gets time to settle at the crease. In the shortest format of cricket, you are invariably expected to go hammer and tongs from the word go, and consequently, strike rate becomes the most important metric for a batsman.

The Indian Premier League is a marquee T20 tournament which attracts the best of the talent from across the world. As a result, the competition is really stiff during IPL and the quality of bowling is really high, which makes matters even tougher for batsmen.

There have been a few batsmen throughout the history of IPL who have been able to master the quick scoring approach towards batting. With IPL 2019 just a few weeks away, here's a look at 5 batsmen who are at the top of the charts as far as strike rate is concerned:

#1 Glenn Maxwell

has had a topsy-turvy IPL career so far. Barring a few editions he has not been able to justify the faith various franchises have put in him through money paid and opportunities provided.

IPL 2014 was the most prolific season for Maxwell where he scored 552 runs from 16 matches at an astonishing strike rate of 187.75.

Overall Maxwell has played 69 IPL matches and he has scored 1297 runs at a strike rate of 161.13.

#2 Rishabh Pant

India's new wonder kid Rishabh Pant came into limelight through his exploits in the Indian Premier League. Pant's ability to tonk the cricket ball a long way came to the fore in the IPL last year.

Pant had an amazing IPL 2018 and he ended up scoring 684 runs for his franchise Delhi Daredevils, which is now known as Delhi Capitals.

Overall Pant has played 38 IPL matches and he has scored 1248 runs at a strike rate of 162.71

#4 Sunil Narine
